PPC Campaigns - Getting Started

Getting started with PPC through Custwin is really easy . . .

  1. You make contact and provide details about your website and what you'd like to achieve in the way of enquiries/sales being gained from that website.
  2. We advise you on whether PPC is right for you (or not in some cases), and we provide costings for you to consider.
  3. In some cases we'll consider that your website isn't strong enough to generate business from PPC clicks that we could generate. We have no interest in sending potential customers to a client website purely for those people to exit a website that they consider to be inadequate. That would be a pure waste of clicks budget. If this is the case, we'll recommend that you consider our website analysis service before considering PPC. We have, however, seen many examples where an inadequate website is still able to generate business from PPC, which allows extra revenue to then further invest in the effectiveness of the website.
  4. After you commit to the creation of your PPC campaign, we then create the campaign, working within your monthly budget allocation. It's typical for clients to start on a fairly moderate budget (e.g. £100 per month) and to then increase the budget as the benefits start to be proven through extra business gained.
  5. When the PPC campaign has been created, we explain exactly how the campaign has been set up so that you fully understand what types of search phrases are going to be bringing new visitors to your website.
  6. From the day that the campaign is launched we have regular dialogue about how many enquiries and how much business is being generated as a direct result of the heightened online visibility. The early days and weeks are really important because they show us how well the website is converting those clicks into people who enquire/buy. If we find a mismatch between the levels of clicks and those who get in contact then we analyse why that may be.
  7. On a monthly basis we provide a report that analyses exactly what clicks have been gained from the campaign during the month and, through discussing the levels of business gained, we keep making enhancements to both the PPC campaign and the website so that further higher levels of business can be gained.
  8. Many clients wish to be visible in other search systems than Google (for example, Yahoo and MSN). Once we can prove that the initial Google campaign (and website) is generating sufficient enquiries then we advise clients on how more clicks can be gained in other systems and for clients that have a heavy reliance on Google we always advise having coverage in other systems just in case there are every any glitches with the Google system. Although Google is quite robust, if a business relies too heavily on just gaining clicks from Google then all those eggs in one basket can have serious repercussions for the business if the Google system has a glitch.

Because we know PPC extremely well our clients stay with us for a long time and come to see us as being their guarantee of gaining new business and our fees come to be seen as a minor expense compared to the business gained. Naturally, if any client decided that they wanted to stop their PPC campaign, this can be done easily at any point and all we ask for is a notice period of one month.

We also often find that clients like to 'pause' their PPC campaigns. This is necessary mostly for smaller companies who get to the point where there's too much business to handle, or they may be away on holiday, and so they want to temporarily halt the campaign. In such situations it takes just a few seconds for us to pause the campaign and when the client wants to start the flow of enquiries again we just switch the campaign back on again.
